1960's Ludwig in Black Galaxy Sparkle - 14x20, 8x12, 16x16

Here is a special one. Heavily played, but still sounding as great as ever. These have recently been given some love to bring them back to their former glory. At some point the interiors had been painted silver, so they have been stripped and repainted white in a close manner to how they originally were. The hardware has been cleaned, the seams glued down, and the wrap lightly polished. Far from perfect, but they are ready to be played.

14 x 20 - This drum features 3 original holes on top from a different mount. The larger center hole is covered by a cymbal mount. The other two small holes remain as shown. Drum features mostly original hardware - 16x large lugs, 16x T-rods & claws, 2x Ludwig hoops with Silvermans er Sparkle Inlays (and some paint loss), 2x Fold out spurs (new repros) and mounts, rail consolette, and a ride cymbal mount. Finish is pretty clean, with some considerable fading on top (pretty normal), and some less than perfect seams (anything that could be glued down has been). Chrome is fair, with some looser T-rod heads and pitting on the lugs/heavily used mounts.

8 x 12 - Big story with this drum is that at some point it was dropped the muffler and repaired. There are signs such as a circular crack in the wrap around the muffler. After the repaint it is hard to see the repair on the interior. Drum features original hardware - 12x small lugs, 12x tension rods, 2x triple flanged steel hoops, baseball bat muffler, and tom mount. Badge is a little loose and spins. Wrap looks pretty nice on this one, also exhibiting expected fading. Seam was reglued and lays flat. Chrome is fair, with some subtle corrosion/wear on the hoops and pitting on the lugs.

16 x 16 - This drum is the least abused of the three. Features the original hardware - 16x lugs, 16x tension rods, 2x triple flanged COB hoops, 3x leg mounts & correct legs, and muffler is missing, Finish is still faded, but pretty clean on this drum. The seam is not the prettiest and the ply underneath is showing some, but there was little that could be done about this. Chrome is similar to the other two drums - hoops show scratching, lugs & mounts show some pitting.
